Sharonda Huffman is a servant leader in Essex, MD.  She is a strategic and instinctive leader who wants to increase the registered voters, spread awareness of boards, commissions, and central committee opportunities. In 2022, she chartered the  Blue and Gold Democratic Club.  

For so long, members of the Baltimore County Democratic Party sometimes based decisions on tradition, not rules. Since being involved in the Democratic Party, Sharonda (Dillard) Huffman recognized, the party’s practices seemed unfair if they were not aligned with the governing documents. Instead of just complaining, she has enlightened the membership on governance and parliamentary procedure. Not only did she consult the State Party, she also consulted and sought training from accredited Parliamentarians on various matters including the selection process of the chair vacancy.  Ultimately, her guidance led to a new election of Chair in April 2024.
